Award-winning comedian and musician Vikki Stone has announced that her debut orchestral work Concerto for Comedian and Orchestra is to be published by Faber Music.

The work has it’s debut performance last year at Glastonbury Festival, conducted by rising star conduc-tor Ben Glassberg.

Stone’s debut as orchestral composer, Concerto for Comedian and Orchestra is a spoken word concerto – the first work of its kind – that sees the comedian in the role of ‘soloist’ alongside an orchestra of 27 musicians.

Supported by The Bliss Trust Composers Bursary, Arts Council England and PRS Women Make Music, the work was given its world premiere at Glastonbury Festival in June 2017 and in the same year per-formed at Latitude Festival and played The Pleasance Grand at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In 2016, Stone made her classical compositional debut at the Royal Albert Hall with The Thing That Matters, a choral work for massed choir commissioned by the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. Concerto for Comedian and Orchestra is Stone’s first composition for orchestra.

The Concerto for Comedian & Orchestra is available in versions for large and small orchestra. Contact musicfornow@fabermusic.com for more info.
