
Louie Bayliss is a British actor and physical comedian with a career spanning over 30 years, recognised for his dynamic performances across stage, film, television, and sketch comedy. He first garnered acclaim for his work in the physical theatre production Men in Coats, which was featured on the prestigious Royal Variety Show. For ten years, Louie toured internationally with Men in Coats, captivating audiences worldwide with his exceptional physical comedy and timing.
Bayliss is also a founding member of the sketch group Greedy, a collective noted for its sharp, inventive comedy and ensemble work, delivering sell–out runs at the Edinburgh Festival, Hen and Chickens London and on the New York comedy circuit. With Greedy, Bayliss developed a reputation for character versatility and bold physicality, contributing to the group’s distinctive high-octane style.
On the comedy circuit, Bayliss has shared the stage with renowned figures such as Jimmy Carr, Nina Conti, and John Bishop, performing at major festivals and contributing to the evolution of modern comedy. He was part of the creative team behind Spank, a pioneering comedy and club night at the Edinburgh Fringe. Spank became the most successful and longest-running late-night show at the festival, with Bayliss performing as the house master of the “Wheels of Steel,” DJ Heinious, blending comedy with the energy of a vibrant club atmosphere and killer tunes.
Louie is also a brilliant vocal mimic, renowned for his ability to deliver accents from all nationalities and specific regions with precision. This unique skill has enhanced his versatility as an actor, enabling him to take on a wide range of characters in both comedic and dramatic roles.
In television, Bayliss has appeared in Judge John Deed, Hotel Babylon, and The Mentalist, where he worked alongside Simon Baker. In film, Bayliss has appeared in The Trap, Tales of Crazy Rolf, and Suavest Man, the latter alongside Owain Yeoman. His work also includes Worthless alongside Gaynor Faye, and The Day They Came to Suck Out Our Brains with Warwick Davis. These films have been celebrated on the festival circuit, where Bayliss demonstrated range from absurdist humour to grounded comic vulnerability, earning industry recognition for his performances; most notably, he won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Short Film at the Seattle Film Festival 2024, underscoring his versatility as an actor on the small screen and impact on international independent film audiences.
