
‘The bastard love child of Victoria Wood and Tim Minchin’ The Scotsman
VIKKI STONE is an Olivier award-winning writer, comedian, musician, composer, presenter and actress.
She is currently writing the stage adaptation of 90s hit film Coyote Ugly with film screenwriter Gina Wendkos for Jamie Wilson Productions, which will be directed & choreographed by multi–Tony Award–winning Jerry Mitchell. The show is due to open in the West End in 2027. Her most recent project, Caroline: A New Musical, inspired by the story of pirate radio station Radio Caroline, will tour East Anglia in 2026.
In 2022, Vikki co-adapted the smash hit kids TV show Hey Duggee for stage for Cuffe & Taylor/Kenny Wax which won Best Family Show at The Olivier Awards 2023. She was also dramaturg on Burlesque, the musical based on the hit film of the same name, which opened at Manchester Opera House in 2024. She is currently writing book, music and lyrics for Maid Marian and Her Merry Men: A New Musical* (*sort of) based on Tony Robinson’s hit BBC TV series which had its first workshop in 2025.
You may have spotted her on Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC2), Pointless Celebrities (BBC1), or in the Children’s BAFTA award winning Ten Pieces, or heard her on BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show. She has also hosted two series of the official BBC Proms Podcast, as well as regularly appearing as a guest on BBC4’s Proms coverage. In 2022 Vikki became the first onscreen female MD on a Saturday night primetime entertainment show alongside her band The Heartbeats on ITV1’s singing/dating show Romeo & Duet.
Additional writing credits include #zoologicalsociety (Royal & Derngate), Southbound (The Other Palace), Aladdin (The Lyric Hammersmith), Our Girls Our Game (The British Youth Music Theatre), Alice In (Liverpool Everyman/Theatre Royal Plymouth). Vikki was also the composer and lyricist for The Rose Theatre Kingston’s 2023 production of Peter Pan.
Vikki made her directing debut in 2025 with Stalled (Kings Head Theatre) and co-wrote and co-directed Mama Goose for Theatre Royal Stratford East later that year.
Following two critically acclaimed pantomime seasons playing award nominated villains at The Lyric Hammersmith, Vikki wrote their 2021 pantomime, Aladdin, which won both Best Script and Best Pantomime in its capacity category at The UK Pantomime Awards. She returned to write their 2023 pantomime Cinderella, as well as writing Dick Whittington & His Cat for The New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich.
Whilst training, Vikki attended prestigious music schools, Wells Cathedral School and The Royal Academy Of Music, and was awarded a Foundation Fellowship by Wells in 2013 and The Royal Academy Of Music have recently presented Vikki with the honour of Associate of The Royal Academy (ARAM), so she has more letters after her name, than in her name: VIKKI STONE PG DIP RAM LRAM ARAM.
Vikki has also hosted The Amazing Sound Quest with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and played Leroy Anderson’s Famous piece The Typewriter live to over 2,000 people.
